Privacy policy

RoleMatch saves job postings you choose to save, keeps the resume details you enter, and fills application forms you ask it to fill. This page says exactly what that means for your data.
What we collect
Only what you type or explicitly save:
- Your profile: name, preferred name, email, phone, location, and the LinkedIn, GitHub and portfolio links you choose to add.
- Work authorization answers, standing acknowledgments, and the optional self-identification answers, all of which you can leave blank.
- Resumes you upload, and the tailored versions generated from them.
- Job postings you save, including the title, company and description as they appeared, plus the status history of your application.
- Your account email, held by AWS Cognito for sign-in.
RoleMatch does not read pages you have not asked it to act on, does not track your browsing, and has no analytics.
Why we collect it
To fill applications you ask RoleMatch to fill, and to show you your own cart. There is no other use. Your data is not sold, not transferred to third parties, not used for advertising, and not used for credit or lending decisions.
Who can see it
Only you. Every row is stored against your account id and access is enforced in the database itself, so one account cannot read another account's rows even through a bug in the application layer.
When you submit an application, the details you approved go to that employer or their applicant tracking system, exactly as they would if you had typed them in yourself.
Where it lives
On servers we operate. Traffic is encrypted in transit. Sign-in is handled by AWS Cognito, which holds your email and password; RoleMatch never sees your password.
Deleting it
You can remove any saved posting or resume from the app at any time. To delete your account and everything attached to it, write to privacy@rolematch.app and it will be removed within 30 days.
Permissions the extension asks for
Chrome shows a broad site access prompt because job applications hand off to an employer's own system, and those addresses cannot be listed in advance. RoleMatch reads a page only when you act on that page.
Filling a form uses Chrome's debugger interface to read the form's labels and validation messages accurately. Chrome displays a banner the entire time it is attached, and RoleMatch falls back to a plain read when it cannot attach.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change that affects how your data is used will be announced in the app before it takes effect.
